Meet the committee!

We're here to help and to ensure the smooth running of the club and it's activities. Let us know, if we can help!

Dave Daborn

Club President

I joined the committee in 1997 as Vice-Chair and then served as Chairman for 20 years from 1998 to 2018 before becoming Club President. My favourite race distance is a half marathon as it's still quite a challenging distance, but less training is needed than the full marathon. My best HM was the Old Portsmouth Half. My favourite club route to run is the 7 scenic miles taking in the canal and the Hatches.

Alan Richardson

Chairman

I love parkrunning at lots of different locations. I recently completed my 750th parkrun and have finished parkruns at more than 100 different locations even managing to complete the Alphabeteer challenge recently. My favourite place to run is ... somewhere new! I enjoy leading and supporting club runs and often like to include a hill or two!

Ailsa Hutchings

Club Secretary

The Amsterdam marathon is my favourite race. I felt strong and loved the run. I love to run with my dog, Chester, a Welsh Border Collie/poodle. I like Edenbrook parkrun the best, it is fast and flat and I love to splash through the puddles when it's wet!

Dawn failes

Membership Secretary

I started running at University, but took it up again aged 40. My favourite race is the Windsor Women's 10km. It has fabulous scenery and a great atmosphere! My favourite post-race recovery snack is Chia Charge bars as they are really tasty!

Sam Jones

Treasurer

Endure 24 is a great race as it pushes you to your limits. My favourite cake is Amanda's Lemon drizzle, but post-race or long run, nothing beats a large mixed grill from the Tilly Shilling! My favourite club route to run is the summer Tuesday run around Fleet Pond which is very scenic.

Committee member

I love the London Marathon, the crowds are fantastic, it has a great atmosphere and I have lovely memories from running there. I have been fortunate to be able to run the London Marathon 7 times. Bath Skyline is my favourite parkrun couse. It has a pretty view, 39 steps and a varied course.

Alison briggs

Welfare Officer

Half marathon is my favourite race distance, it's easier to train for, but still hard and the Great North Run is my favourite race. The best cake post run is my mum's Carrot cake. My favourite club route to run is Fleet Pond in the Summer as it has really nice trails and views.

Amanda Critchell

Website lead & Welfare officer

Frimley Lodge is my favourite parkrun, it's my home and where I first succeeded at running. Manchester Marathon is brilliant! It's a great route, with amazing support. I always have vanilla Yazoo waiting for me to drink when I finish a race! I'm fond of neither mud nor hills, but somehow love Endure 24!

Nick gibbs

Cross Country lead

Cross country is my favourite race distance (of course!) Lots of mud and hills, but Lords Wandsworth is my favourite course. Aside from running, I also keep chickens that lay ALOT of eggs! Some of the members bring egg cartons to FLP parkrun, to take some home for their breakfast! After a race, there is nothing better than a cold beer with friends.

Dave Boulter

Committee member

I really enjoy running at the Great South 10 mile run. It has all the atmosphere of a big marathon, but is easier to train for. I have run too many races to remember over the years, but my first London Marathon was in 2005 and amongst my other marathons, I have run New York 3 times.
